The Piedmont Triad Partnership is a key player in the transformation of the region. In conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor through its WIRED grant – Workforce Innovations in Regional Economic Development – the Partnership is focused on strengthening the Region’s global competitiveness through the creation of high-skill, high-wage jobs. Activities of the Piedmont Triad Partnership include marketing and public relations, workforce development and training, cluster development, regional leadership engagement and regional advocacy to support the region's growing reputation as a superior location for commerce. In close cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and local economic development agencies, the Piedmont Triad Partnership is the region's major resource for sustaining our competitive global advantage. The Piedmont Triad is a dynamic region of more than 1.5 million residents and a labor force of approximately 820,000 workers. Geographically, it consists of 12 central North Carolina counties, including: Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin. The largest cities in the region are Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem. |
